Title: Feasibility Study of Pseudolite Techniques Using Signal Transmission Delay and Code Offset
Author(s): S-H. Im, G-I. Jee, Konkuk University, South Korea
New signal repeating technique to deal with GNSS indoor positioning by means of signal transmission delay of outdoor GPS signal is proposed by authors. For the solution to the efficient assignment of C/A code and the synchronization problem in pseudolite, we extend the proposed algorithm, which positioning technique is based on the signal delay(or code offset), to pseudolite configuration technique. We proposed the 6 types of pseudolite techniques based on the signal transmission delay and the code offset. The 6 types of pseudolite techniques are a retransmission of GPS signal with different transmission delay, a transmission of non-synchronized pseudolite signal with different transmission delay, a transmission of synchronized pseudolite signal with different transmission delay, a transmission of non-synchronized pseudolite signal with code offset using single pseudolite device, a transmission of synchronized pseudolite signal with code offset using single pseudolite device, and a transmission of synchronized pseudolite signal with code offset using multiple pseudolite devices. In this paper, we tested the feasibility of the proposed pseudolite based indoor positioning system through IF(intermediate frequency) level signal simulation. When the proposed pseudolite techniques are used, positioning used pseudolite with or without time synchronization is feasible and the number of C/A code assignment can be minimized.
